"27" is a study about the body and its emotions, through a collection of self-portraits, sometimes taken by and with others. "They're about being myself ; combining experiments and impulses from my life. The video shoot is a process between the chemical and the optical, which revealed inner parts in post-production. What I want to transmit to the spectator is the way in which I watch myself and the body ; it’s an shared intimate eye that can be used by everybody."

Scissoring pictures of naked women, hearing gossiping on an unlucky neurosurgeon, viewing of a weather-forecast-lady pointing at a huge brain projection. Views and sounds merge provoking curiosity and versatility of interpretation: the movie is a mixed brain of a modern person, a psilocibilus, an ironical view of the pop culture and its critics.

In the attempt to offer a critical plattform from which to approach the video. I would lay emphasis on the original questions that inspired my work in this occasion. Is time, beside common perceptions, besides the narratives that media so easily tend to foster, really a monolithic institution? What does it happen when we try to unpack time? Can we apply to time the same tools we normally deploy when questioning the monolithic representation of space, for instance by using the play of perspective, direction, and illusion?...

"a doll's house is......" is a work which explores the artistic connection between movement that occurs in an apartment building, other units in that building and the exterior world. It shows that each motion, whether it is made by human, animal, object, light or sound, is connected and extended by other motions to compose a phrase, a sentence of great artistic interest.

"And She Gave Away the Secrets of Her Past and Laughed I’ve Lost Control Again" are words from the Joy Division song "She’s lost control", but with a re-created sentence. This video shows us the story of a young woman’s confused mind, visualizing forbidden and hidden memories, fantasies, dreams and emotions combined with historical events and popular culture, putting a lot of attention in female history. Beyond the stage, elsewhere, where everything is played, an intimate universe, where the bodies are expressions of the soul and its desires. A series of six scenes, a unique choreographic and cinematographic vision, almost secret. Far from the logic of exhibitionism, before our eyes a dance of seduction and bewitchment plays out, where we lose our souls and bodies in a series of moving tableaux.

In the summer avalanche of tourists precipitate on this beach. Although it is shown in a grey winter day, we can clearly see the traces of the last touristic season on the sand... A subliminal text (an advertising from a note tourist agency), acts as a counterpoint to the desolation of the show. So the text about a Sardinia as an "Holidays dream" absurdly contrasts with a much less exciting reality, made up of a consumeristic and barbaric mass tourism.

"Kitchen Angels" is a witty choreographic story following two women's evolution from the drudgery of household chores to a fantastic transformation through the glamorization of mundane domestic locations. The women's imaginations set them free through a series of frescoes inspired by the grand entrances of 1940s-style song and dance films of FredAstaire, Eleanor Powell, Esther Williams, Moira Shearer and Betty Davis. The film's soundtrack is paramount in supplementing the narrative, which is expressed through movement as it parallels the women's journey. The soundtrack is also a journey spanning from original electronic music to tango-inspired contemporary jazz piano and a classic turn of the century bandoneón.

In Memories at the Banff Springs Hotel, I am asking random people if they could share a special memory with me. I do not specify what the memory should be; this is left open to their interpretation. With this piece I was also interested in the construction of a memory. The last person whom I speak with appears to be constructing a memory in order to continue this interaction with me. He has to pause and think hard about his memory, leaving me to question if this was an actual memory or something that he has adapted or restructured during our conversation. How much of this memory is referencing an actual event. I am interested in how memories can change overtime in response to people's ongoing experiences and circumstances. Memories appear to at least be partially constructed in response to people's fears, wishes, and desires.

Would our actions appear more meaningful? Would a choreography suddenly emerge? Is the motion around us better observed by extending our memory into the past and future simultaneously? Therefore, there are four short scenes in "on the roof" which repeat the same two characters in the same scene but in different locations. In the final scene, all four repetitions are juxtaposed.

It documents the day-to-day process or act of filmmaking. Perhaps it can be best described as an observer’s view of Beijing as it is today. Scenes of what foreigners and certainly tourist travellers may pick up of this huge and sprawling metropolis. Completely observatory in nature, this film is not a social criticism or a cry for help. It could thus be interpreted as an ethnographic study of movement in contemporary Beijing.

"Rescription" documents an experimental narrative that engages the question of context. Arising from the ground, sheets of paper drift back to be un-ripped and re-attached to their origin: the book. Rooted in metaphor, the piece stems from memory, modified histories, and the reconfiguration of familiarity.

Resonances starts with the prospecting of the bathroom from my childhood. Black inked words written in Arabic on the bathtub surface scatter and propagate progressively. They resonate and echo night scene recollections. Transformed in a resonance chamber, the bathtub mixes the fluids of these evanescent thoughts. By reflecting its surroundings, the ink blurred water surface, overturns and clouds the words. The backward surge of the night reveals the scars of a troubled universe, verging on obliteration.

This performance centres on a transaction or exchange. I have gone to a convenience store during my residency in Portugal and created an “activated situation”. In this piece I have asked participants to share a bowl of split pea soup with me. The sharing of soup is used as a pretext for social interaction. As the piece continues the lines are blurred and there is confusion about what role each of us belong to. On this occasion I am examining how our individual needs and freedoms are altered on a daily basis as we move between public and commercial spaces. The audience is invited to re-evaluate what they think is permissive and the preconceived ideas of normalcy.

The piece called "The Encounter" was made at "Mount Saint Vincent University Art Gallery", 2008. In this piece I have asked participants to describe a special place/location. I previously created a series of plaster objects, which were given in exchange for each interaction I performed. After these conversations I gave a souvenir that I have produced as a gift for them. In exchange for his or her memory I offered each interlocutor a small plaster sculpture that was about the size of a hand-held mobile device. (Each sculpture was unique and based on a commonplace object such as a dime-store figurine or an ornate light switch-plate, altered in accordance with the way I believe memory functions to distort recollected experiences.) This piece reflects upon its own failures to “connect” and thus gains distance from its overt subject matter.

"The Reapers" is a short documentary film on traditional pigeon hunters, concealed in their tower hide, deep in an oak forest in Perigord, France. Combining a score by Olivier Messiaen with factual scenes and dialogue, the film depicts a secretive, curious and disconcerting rural practice, taking place in a rudimentary encampment of cages, wires and decoys. Interweaving the absurd and the sinister, the film captures the relationship between the hunters and the birds, force-feeding their prized stool-pigeons and sharing out their quarry at the end of the day.The film was made with the assistance of Channel 4’s FourDocs bursary scheme, and continues Cartwright & Jordan’s depiction of mankind’s disparate relationship with fellow species and the natural environment.

Actors in this video hit their faces as if trying to wake up each other, like the Zen Buddhist masters waking up their pupils. It's about the absurdity and comicality of efforts to theorize some contemporary art works, about misunderstandings that takes place between art theorists and art practicians (artists). The film follows the work process of the choreographer and dancer Tamar Borer on her work "Bardo". Since the accident she has been creating in spite of and from that handicap, forced to deal with a limitation she refuses to accept. In "Bardo" Tamar collaborates with additional artists: Harold Rubin, a veteran clarinet player, and Roy Sandrovich, a young acrobat, both brining their unique world into the work. The film accompanies Tamar from the early stages of primal thoughts on the piece till premiere night, through the indecisions, the tension between the three, the small moments at the rehearsals and the expectations. At the same time the film deals with the harsh issue with which Tamar confronts on a daily basis - dealing with the moving creation of an handicapped dancer.
